Week 6: The performance review is lethal

The River Stains Everything It Touches 😈

adjusts visor Saturday at Battle Park ran exactly 63–69°F under whisper winds barely worth mentioning, and twelve raiders still managed to make the scorecards bleed. Ink puddled like oil slicks across the Black Tar River as the Iron Hoard’s sixth episode scrawled itself into permanence—eleven rounds of plastic warfare, and one warlord who refused to let the big prize go.

Three Raiders, One Podium, Zero Mercy ⚔️

In RAD, TJ McArthur stole the throne with surgical precision. After five holes he’d already slipped past the early tie between Marcus Rich and Travis Sherrod; by the final basket he’d posted a -3, 959-rated statement that screamed +41 over rating. Marcus clung to second for the last cash spot, while Sherrod’s tidy +4 left him drinking dust and wondering what happened.

The Bogey-Free Apocalypse Tour 🔥

Meanwhile, Rick Effin Richmond treated RPA like his personal victory lap. Wire-to-wire, bogey-free, -7 on a Par 59 that punishes over-exuberance. The 998-rated demolition left Jared Johnson at +1—good enough for second, impressive enough for a personal best—and left Christopher Rose staring at +3, 55 points south of his average and wondering if the wind even noticed him.

Two Raiders Enter, One Gets Paid 💰

RAE played out as a two-man duel. Edward White controlled the script from hole 1 onward, sealing another wire-to-wire win at +3 and pocketing the only cash in the division. Seth Badders clawed back with two late birdies after a mid-round spiral, but the +5 ledger left him hungry while Edward walked off stacking coins.

Ricky Medina’s PR Means Nothing Here 🥲

RAH flipped the story. [Luke Hearn] started hot, kept the birdie train humming through the back nine, and closed at -3—another clean wire-to-wire at 959-rated perfection. Ricky Medina matched his career-best -1, which in literal terms is spectacular and in practical terms meant second place and a view of Luke’s payout envelope. C’est la wasteland.

The Solo Warlord of Battle Park 🏰

Jesse Barefoot owned RAF like it was built for him. His wire-to-wire +4 came with a monstrous +52 rating surplus and a personal-best stamp on every card he signed. When you’re the only entry in an entire division, domination is academic—still, Jesse made it look violent.

The Wasteland Giveth and Taketh Away ⚖️

Three perfect wire-to-wire coronations, one bogey-free masterpiece from Rick, and statistical anomalies everywhere: TJ (+41), Edward (+21), and especially Jesse’s +52 celebration. Yet the same fairways swallowed [Christopher Rose] whole (-55), and [Jared Johnson] still had to console himself with “personal best” while staring at -26. Ink and tears, same viscosity.

The Pot That Refuses to Die 💸

No aces again, so the Super Ace Pot swelled to $306 after six raiders kicked in another $12 each. The chains stayed intact; the suspense grows fatter. Somewhere out there, a single throw could still melt this whole season down to one glorious payout.

Vault Keeper Does Vault Keeper Things 🖤

Obsidian Thane Rick Effin Richmond walked in with the Obsidian Thane, walked out with the Obsidian Thane, and made the rest of the vault feel like background scenery. Ruler of lost things, finder of exits, defender by default—Week 6 ends the same way Week 5 did, only with sturdier ink stains.

The River Keeps Running Black 🕳️

Four weeks remain in the Iron Hoard. Four more chances for the scorched earth to claim discs, raise heroes, and rewrite every standing in permanent marker. The Tar River doesn’t slow—it just waits. See you next Saturday on whatever’s left of the fairways.
