Severed Covenant

During the Woods Veto—the legendary event when the Opposition united to overthrow the sitting champion—a group of delegates signed a Covenant of Mutual Destruction, agreeing that if one fell, all would fall together. When the champion was finally toppled, the Covenant was fulfilled and then literally torn in half by the victors. Each piece became a Severed Covenant, a reminder that coalition politics in the Accord carry fatal consequences.

The Covenant appears as a single half-parchment, its edges ragged and burnt as if torn from a greater whole. The remaining text speaks of obligations and betrayals, with certain clauses simply ending mid-sentence—forever incomplete. A dark red wax seals what remains, and the document radiates a cold that settles into the bones of anyone who holds it too long.

The Severed Covenant grants its bearer the ability to dissolve temporary alliances between other delegates. When invoked during a match, any player who has benefited from a collaborative scoring arrangement finds those benefits instantly revoked—leaving them exposed and vulnerable to the Accord's harsh penalties.
