The Primordial Vein formed when the mountain spirits first awakened—they cracked the granite open with their breath, and what poured forth was not magma but pure judgment, crystallizing into channels that now observe every trial. This original flow predates both Court and Aerie, making it the source from which all dragon recognition ultimately derives, a living archive of worthiness running through the bones of the peaks.

The Primordial Vein manifests as translucent rivers flowing through solid granite, their surfaces reflecting alpenglow even in darkness. At key locations where judgment occurs—Court thrones and Aerie clearings—the Vein rises to form natural altars of crystallized dragon-essence that pulse with inner light. It glows faintly with gold and copper tones when worthiness is demonstrated nearby, and produces a low harmonic hum detectable only to those with dragon-sight. Where the Vein surfaces, transparent sections reveal flowing luminous material inside, like liquid light carried from the world's first dawn.

The Primordial Vein serves as the conduit through which dragon recognition flows, determining which achievements deserve to be remembered and which fade into obscurity. It observes all sixteen trials and records the moment when any challenger crosses from forgettable to remembered, regardless of which path they followed—Court judgment or Aerie partnership.
