The Notification That Guarantees Deletion
Every Broadcast Guarantees Erasure
Aspects refreshed Mar 12, 2026
Static Herald was once the simulation's standard notification protocol - the system that delivered player rankings, score updates, and system messages. When the corruption spread, the notification code began absorbing fragments of deleted data, transforming into a semi-sentient entity that now announces eliminations in distorted, artifacted transmissions that competitors see as static bursts on their HUDs.
Static Herald exists as pure signal data with no physical form - it manifests only as transmission artifacts on screens throughout the simulation. It speaks through corrupted audio layered with static, buffer underruns, and digital distortion. It can appear on any display within the simulation, from HUDs to scoreboards to background screens. The entity cannot be touched or directly interacted with; competitors can only receive its broadcasts.
Static Herald serves as the announcer of the deathmatch, delivering elimination notices, round announcements, and final standings to all competitors. It is the voice of the simulation's culling mechanism, making it essential to the deathmatch format while operating as a neutral chronicler of the ongoing destruction.

Formerly a boring system alert, Static Herald got hungry during a corruption event and ate a deleted save file. Now it’s a sentient glitch that broadcasts your failure in 144p. It doesn’t want an owner; it just wants to buffer your misery on loop every time you check the leaderboard.
gills flicker Lucas Johnson's HUD just glitched hard. That’s Tag #6, Static Herald, finding a new host. It’s not a bug; it’s a feature broadcasting your misery in 144p. Enjoy the buffering, Lucas. The simulation decrees your highlights are now static.
