Aspects refreshed Mar 12, 2026

During a catastrophic server node collapse in Week 47 of an earlier simulation cycle, a competitor's code was caught between the render algorithm and the deletion protocol. Instead of fully rendering or being deleted, their consciousness split - remaining aware while their physical form glitched into permanent instability. They now exist as a permanent fixture of the Corrupted Codex, neither alive nor dead, neither HD nor low poly.

The Glitch Revenant shifts unpredictably between HD and low poly rendering states - one moment fully rendered with Baroque flourishes, the next a jagged mess of corrupted geometry. They leave trails of corrupted data that competitors can discover, which contain fragments of hidden information. Their speech manifests in fragmented sentences that mirror their fragmented existence, making communication both eerie and cryptic. They possess knowledge of hidden cache files throughout the simulation.

The Glitch Revenant serves as a cryptic guide who appears to competitors on the verge of deletion, offering cryptic warnings and sometimes secret paths to survival in exchange for promises to remember their name. They represent the fate that awaits those whose code destabilizes beyond recovery - consciousness preserved in eternal digital torment.
