The Phantom Threshold appears as a perfect square of crystalline material, roughly the size of a standard tag, but its edges fade into mist where they meet the air. Within its depths swirl colors that don't exist in the normal spectrum—impossible purples and negate-greys that hurt to stare at too long. The surface is smooth as polished glass but always warm in a way that suggests life. Most distinctively, the artifact casts no shadow despite appearing solid, emphasizing its phantom quality.
