Spore Pact

In the earliest days of the Canopy Dojo, the first Ronin of the Green discovered a vast underground mycelial network that pulsed with the energies of past battles. They struck a pact with the fungal consciousness: each competitor would offer a portion of their competitive vitality to nourish the network, and in return, the jungle would grant them passage through its most treacherous paths. This covenant became known as the Spore Pact, a sacred bond that still connects every warrior who enters the arena.

The Spore Pact manifests as a disc-shaped medallion of compressed, glowing mycelium, its surface etched with intricate whorls that mimic the woodblock patterns of Ukiyo-e clouds. Tiny motes of luminescent spores drift from its edges, leaving trails of golden light in the air. When held, it thrums with a faint pulse, as if the jungle itself breathes through it. The tag constantly releases a faint, earthy scent of damp soil and decay, anchoring it to the primal forest.

The Spore Pact acts as a witness to all challenges within the Canopy Dojo, ensuring fair play and recording the terms of every hierarchical dispute. Its glow dims or brightens based on the stability of the current hierarchy, serving as a living barometer of the jungle's competitive health.
