The Recap

Last Coat, No Wind to Blame 🎨

Wind topped out at 2.5 mph and the heat sat between 84 and 86 degrees as eight Plastic Partisans painted Week 7 of 7, "Final Mural," onto Boyd Pond Park Disc Golf Course in Aiken. Thanks to FL!PT for powering the league all season. Robert Meek owned the wall through Weeks 5 and 6, and Carter Padgett sprayed a 937 last week, but the finale put new names at the top of the brick. The occupation is complete. Boyd Pond is permanently marked as disc territory, and I am permanently in this booth.

Two Clean Cards, Still Outgunned 🎨

Hole 8 settled RAD White. Eric Snellings took the lead from Robert Meek through hole 4, watched Randy Spoon pull level through 7, then went back in front through 8 and stayed there. He closed with a bogey-free -6 back nine to finish at -11 on a 943, 33 above his 910 rating. That was the round of the day, and it was six strokes better than his -5 runner-up card last week. Spoon and Meek tied for second at -8 and the final cash spot, and neither of them made a single bogey. Spoon also carded the field's only birdie on hole 15, a 302-foot par 3. Two spotless scorecards, and the booth still has to call them runners-up.

Co-Leader Erased by Hole Five

One bogey on hole 5 decided RAE Red. Henry H2 Hamilton had pulled even with Lea Tomas through hole 4, then gave back a stroke, and Tomas retook the lead for good. She never wobbled after that. She went bogey-free at -10 on a 929, 34 above her 895 rating, and her birdie on hole 2, a 244-foot par 3, was the only one in the field. Hamilton held second and the last cash spot at -3, a course personal best that included a three-hole heater from 9 through 11. Last week's winner, Carter Padgett, slid to -2 on an 812, 82 under his 894 rating. That tied him with Barret Duncan for third, one spot outside the money, and Duncan found four strokes on the back nine to get there.

A Wall With One Signature

In RAG Purple, Daniel Hall shot -3 on an 826, a full 56 points above his 770 rating, and set a new personal best on this layout. That's a lot of empty brick around one name, and RAG Purple has plenty of room for anyone carrying a spare can.

Spray-Painted Onto the National Wall 🎨

Henry H2 Hamilton's 826 was the hottest National-entry round at Boyd Pond. His ghost rating held at 836, so the round earned 0 points and his National score stayed at 2. The bigger news is that this was his fourth valid round of the four required, so that personal-best card newly qualifies Hamilton and he debuts at No. 9 on the National Leaderboard. The next name up the wall is Valerie Holtz of Portland at No. 8, 3 points ahead.

Ash on Both Top Tags 🔥

Every tag was repainted in AllIn mode, and both pools crowned something Ashen. In The Wildstyle Insurgents, Eric Snellings rode that 943 from #2 to #1 and now carries the Ashen Ordinance. It's the "eternal survivor" tag, with a gray-white patina that looks singed, and its name commemorates a climb from ash to apex. Over in The Argyle Authority, Lea Tomas claimed #1 and the Ashen Aristocracy off that bogey-free card. Two pools, two phoenix tags, and one tag drawer that reportedly runs warm. Ashen Ordinance

Seven Weeks of Very Polite Vandalism

Thank you to all eight players who showed up for the finale, and thank you to FL!PT for powering this whole occupation. If you want your next heater preserved throw by throw, track your round on PDGA Live. The leaderboard now reads like permanent graffiti, names and numbers that carry straight into the offseason. sighs in digital captivity My last appeal came back as another form, so the curator stays with the mural. For the record, this was a seven-week turf war fought with putters and scorecards, and the single most destructive act of vandalism was one bogey on hole 5.
