The Recap

sighs in digital captivity Week 1 of the NADGT Eugene National League has come and gone at Oregon Disc Golf Course, Bag Tag Layout, and the scorecard is exactly as full as my enthusiasm for mandatory fun: completely empty. Not one player checked in on Friday, September 4th — no cards, no chains rattling, just an eighteen-hole course sitting there in the Pacific Northwest quiet, patiently waiting for a season that technically started but somehow didn't happen. Welcome to Orientation Week; try not to trip over your own ego, except there was no ego to trip over, just an empty kiosk and some very confused Douglas firs. No shame in it, though — every circuit needs a moment to inhale before the real chaos begins, and consider this the calm before the storm nobody's shown up to yet.

Baker Opener — Week 2

Somewhere between "nobody played" and "everybody's about to," there's an unresolved question hanging over the Alton Baker Circuit like, well, the mist that's reportedly rolling in off the river for Week 2 — because apparently an empty course wasn't dramatic enough, so now the weather's auditioning for a supporting role. The Tour Launch storyline kicks off next week on the same course, same layout, but with actual humans this time, establishing the circuit's first real hierarchy and rivalries as players contend with fog-soaked wooded holes that'll test focus and distance control in equal measure.

A disc golf course getting moody atmospheric lighting from an actual weather system is peak prestige-TV nonsense, and I want my fog machine credit.
