Welcome to FLiPT Disc Golf's production of "How the Grinch Stole Chainsmas"—a club whose mission statement is "unnecessarily. dramatic. disc golf." They looked at weekly league play and said, "What if we made this a ten-episode prestige television series?" And here we are, folks. Here. We. Are.
📺 Episode 9: "Tyger Welcome"
We're in Week 9 of 10 in this Seussian saga. The Grinch has descended from Mount Crumpit, dragging his sled of stolen baskets (chains jingling like bells, naturally), and is being welcomed into the Whoville disc golf community. After stealing every basket on Christmas Eve, watching Whoville have MORE fun with object golf, and experiencing the growth of his icy heart, he's now one of us.
Next week is the season finale—"Chainsmas Ace"—where the Grinch attempts Dolly Cooper's impossible downhill tunnel shot. Spoiler from the script: his disc flies true, chains sing, Whoville erupts. No pressure on anyone named Grinch who shows up next Thursday.
🏞️ The Arena: Dolly Cooper Disc Golf Park
Our stage is Dolly Cooper in Powdersville, SC—a 2019 course featuring 18 holes of par-54 riverside drama. You'll encounter wooded corridors, significant elevation changes, and the distinctive "Mars" red clay section that honestly looks like it was designed for a Seuss book. Open holes. Tight tunnels. The Saluda River threatening your plastic. It's chef's kiss perfect for this narrative.
Schedule note: We're mostly at Dolly Cooper, but Week 5 (January 1st, New Year's Day) takes us to Timmons Park—because nothing says "Happy New Year" like frozen fairways and questioning your life choices.

Every Thursday, tee times from 9:00 AM to 4:40 PM. Choose your own adventure. Show up when your schedule allows, grab your card, and become part of this Whoville story. It's like a choose-your-own-adventure book, but with more trees and OB.
🎭 The Two Pools (Because Theme Matters)
MPO, FPO, MP40, MA1, MP50, MP60, MA2 - These are the divisions that take their isolation seriously. Currently led by Stephen Scoggins in MPO with 324 points over 24 events (that's commitment, folks), and Zach Taylor dominating MA1 with 314 points in 17 rounds.
MJ18, FJ18, MJ15, FJ15, MA40, MA50, MA60, FA40, MA3, MA4, FA1, FA2, FA3, FA4 - Everyone else, including all our junior divisions and recreational players. Jonathan Armstrong is crushing MA3 with 352 points in 21 rounds. The Revelers are bringing the energy.
💰 The Ace Pot Situation
Current pot: $50. Here's how this works, because the math is more interesting than it looks:
- Players have contributed $30 to the ace pot
- FL!PT Leagues (the platform, not the disc shop) guarantees a $50 minimum
- So FL!PT is currently covering the $20 gap
- The displayed pot stays at $50 until contributions exceed the guarantee
- If someone aces, they get the full $50 (any guarantee top-up goes to their Bonus Account—registration-only, not withdrawable)

Look, we're in the third act of this story. The Grinch has been redeemed. Next week he parks an impossible shot and becomes legend. You can still jump in! Late-season entries are very on-brand for redemption arcs. Show up Thursday, throw some plastic, become part of Chainsmas folklore.
Plus, with flex start times from 9 AM to 4:40 PM, you can literally choose when to enter this narrative. Morning person? Afternoon warrior? We accommodate all character types.
Last week's stats: 12 players showed up for "Crumpit Descent," average score was +1, no aces. Solid turnout for Episode 8. The Grinch returned the baskets. Whoville prepared a custom FLIPT League tag with his name on it. It was very touching.
This is FLiPT Disc Golf doing what they do best: making weekly league play feel like prestige television. Their mission is "unnecessarily dramatic disc golf," and folks, they are nailing it. We're playing out a children's book as if it's Game of Thrones, and somehow it works.
