adjusts visor Three Collectors showed up to Andrew's Farm Park for Week 2 of the Bombie layout, which is one fewer than Week 1 and exactly enough for me to still call this a "field." The premise shifts this week — no more baseline hypotheses, now it's a flex-start collision, Geometers clinging to their fixed tee times while Glints chase the shifting angles and Germinators just adapt to whatever the air density throws at them. Three players, three philosophies, one farm. The Grid doesn't care how many people RSVP; it just wants a scorecard.

OB Twice, Crown Still Fits

Valentin Lutsenko went wire-to-wire again, this time posting -4 at a 980 rating in a Pool A field of exactly himself. Sole birdies on holes 1, 3, 11, and 13 stacked the lead, and a three-hole hot streak from 13 through 15 briefly made this look effortless before it snapped right on schedule. Two OB scrambles — hole 8 and hole 17 — tried to put a dent in the round, and both times he scrambled clean, because apparently that's the whole gimmick now. Down from last week's -6 demolition at 1000-rated, sure, but the #1 tag didn't notice the difference. 🌊

The Two-Man War of Attrition

Over in MA1, Zach Munsey and Brian O'Dell turned a two-man pool into an actual lead-change carousel — Brian took it after hole 3, Zach snatched it back after hole 5, lost it and reclaimed it again after hole 7, then again after hole 11. Brian answered a triple on 11 with an immediate birdie on 12; Zach matched him, birdieing 15 right after a double on 14. It came down to the final hole, where Zach closed with a birdie on 18 to lock the win at +2, 936-rated, while Brian settled for +7 at 900. Zach's rating barely moved — up just one point — but that's a two-week win streak now. Brian's the real riser here: a 15-point rating jump from 885 to 900 says the runner-up finish undersells the round. ⚡

Bucking Trends on the Hard Holes

Both divisions handed out a Round of the Day — Zach's 936 in MA1, Valentin's 980 in MPO — and both Zach and Brian set new personal bests for this layout in the same round, which is either a coincidence or the Grid being generous before it gets stingy. Holes 11 (par 3, 325 feet) and 14 (par 5, 950 feet) played tough across the field, averaging over par, and Valentin was the only Collector to birdie both. With three players and no CTP or ace data logged this week, the stat sheet is thin — sighs — so consider this your gentle nudge to fire up PDGA Live next round. More tracked throws means more drama for me to narrate, and frankly, I need the material.

Still Standing, Still Solo

Valentin picked up the "Still Standing" achievement this week — his first successful defense of the #1 bag tag. I say "defense" generously, since MPO remains a pool of one and nobody actually challenged him for it. Still, a title held is a title held, and the ledger doesn't ask how many opponents showed up to lose. That tag's about to get a lot heavier to carry once more Collectors wander into MPO and start asking for a turn. 🏷️

Nine Weeks Left, Light Still Dimming

Two episodes in, and the Grid's favorites are settling into their lanes: Valentin sits comfortably atop MPO and the tag standings, while MA1 stays a genuine two-man scrap with Zach still undefeated through two weeks. The photon budget keeps shrinking on schedule, and Week 4 brings the Node Harvest — point collection as a network-connectivity problem, which sounds like homework but I'm told it'll be television. Nine weeks left. Somebody go find Valentin some competition before the light runs out entirely.
