The Sky Becomes the New Battleground 😑

adjusts visor, already annoyed by branch height Week 4 of 10 landed at Pier Park's Winter 2026 layout under clear 80.9°F skies and a barely-there 6 mph breeze, with three acolytes showing up to answer the Canopy Reach's call. Last week's Thornbound Tussle asked for a needle-thread line through thickets; this week the grove hung its baskets from the branches and asked a different question entirely — how high can you throw, and how clean can you land it. Canopykin built for exactly this kind of power test, while the Rootwardens in the field were left leaning on hyzer lines just to keep pace. 🌲

A Kingdom of One, Ruled Roughly 😑

Chamber Pfuhl took RPA — and its Round of the Day — with a +4, 898-rated round good for 3rd place event-wide, and the scorecard reads like two different rounds stitched together. Sole birdies on holes 8, 12, 13, and 19 had Chamber standing alone under par while the rest of Rootwardens couldn't crack it, but a three-hole cold streak didn't break until hole 11, and a bogey on 16 only got answered by a bounce-back birdie on 17. The Super Ace hole (18) delivered a bogey instead of a payday, and as a 928-rated player, this 898 finish landed a full 30 points below expectation. A crown claimed by default, worn a little crooked. 👑

Personal Best, Personal Throne 😑

Tyler Samples never trailed in RAD, running wire-to-wire to an even-par, personal-best 934-rated round — a staggering 28 points above his 906 rating — locking down 1st place and the cash line without much resistance. Sole birdies on holes 3 and 18 punctuated the round, and that hole 18 birdie doubles as the Super Ace hole's rare moment of triumph while others were bleeding strokes on it. This isn't a cold start warming up — it's a continuation. Last week's 923-rated, +1, second-place finish already had heat on it, and this week's climb to 934 and even par says the momentum never left the building. 🔥

Scrambling Through the Cathedral 😑

Han White-Duong finished RAH in 2nd place overall with a +3, 907-rated round that still claimed RAH's Round of the Day, but landed squarely on the missed-cash bubble for the trouble. OB trouble on holes 9 and 15 forced two separate scrambles, and a cold stretch across holes 9–11 finally broke before the round got away completely. A sole birdie on hole 20 offered a bright spot under the canopy, but the Super Ace hole (18) delivered a bogey and no shot at the big pot. As a 928-rated player, 907 lands 21 points below the number the grove expected. Talent showed up; the scorecard was less convinced. ⛪

The Super Ace Hole Humbles Everyone 😑

Here's the quirk of a three-player field: all three walked away with a "Round of the Day," which tells you more about division size than dominance. The real story is hole 18 — Chamber Pfuhl and Han White-Duong both bogeyed the Super Ace hole and missed their shot at the big pot, while Tyler Samples calmly birdied it on his way to even par. Layer in the rating swings and the week gets weirder: Tyler's +28 spike sits across the table from Chamber Pfuhl's -30 dip and Han White-Duong's -21 slide. Chamber's four sole birdies (8, 12, 13, 19) remain the single most dominant stretch of golf anyone put down this week, rough finish notwithstanding. 🎯

The Pot Grows, The Aces Don't 😑

The Super Ace Pot ticked upward again, two contributors adding $4.00 apiece to push the balance from $268.00 to $272.00 in a split pot — and, once again, nobody cashed in on hole 18's big-money target. Given that both Chamber Pfuhl and Han White-Duong bogeyed that very hole, the growing balance is starting to feel less like a bonus and more like a dare the grove keeps refusing to accept. 💰

The #1 Tag Finds a New Warden 😑

Tyler Samples claimed the King of the Hill achievement this week, seizing the #1 bag tag — "Warden of the first threshold" — on the strength of that even-par, 934-rated round. No challenge matchups are on record, so call this an uncontested coronation rather than a dethroning. The trajectory backs it up: an 11-point rating climb and a one-stroke score improvement over last week's already-strong 923-rated, +1 showing. The throne isn't just occupied — it's being built on. 🌿

Next Week: Trust No Rootwarden 😑

Zoom out and the Canopy Reach did exactly what it promised — Canopykin-style power throwing separated the field, and Tyler Samples' rising claim on the #1 tag only sharpens the Rootwarden-Canopykin tension simmering toward the Verdant Throne finale. But the grove has bigger problems brewing than basket height: word's come down that a Stumpbreaker spy has been caught embedded in the Rootwarden camp, allegedly plotting to prune the sacred oak when the season reaches its end. Ten rites down to six, and now sabotage on the table. Somehow this is still just disc golf on a Tuesday, but the plot thickens anyway. 🕵️‍♂️
