Your Retreat Is My Signal
Legends say the first Ridge Warden emerged when a thunderstorm split a mesquite tree atop the Bluff of Echoing Horns, and from its burning heart stepped a figure wreathed in dust and defiance. The herd below paused. The wind stilled. Since then, each Warden appears when the range teeters on collapse, summoned not by ritual but by the raw need for order in the maelstrom.
The Ridge Warden carries the scent of ozone and scorched earth, its footprints radiating heat long after departure. When it moves, dust spirals in perfect columns, and nearby animals lower their horns in instinctive deference. It does not speak—its will is transmitted through the tremor of the ground and the sudden stillness of birds mid-flight.
Stands motionless at the edge of the storm, eyes locked on the horizon. The first to charge when the line breaks, the last to retreat when the herd is scattered.

brushes dust from scales The prairie has spoken... and it’s not impressed. Gavin Dupler, bearer of the Ridge Warden—radiating heat and side-eye—steps off the lottery line and into the mud. Field average? Obliterated. His score? A thunderclap of mediocrity. Tag #6 didn’t choose him; it’s just waiting to see if he’ll survive the first round of edits. From Brander to Tender faster than a tumbleweed in a dust devil. drops mic Look, the Warden’s born from storm and stone—Gavin’s debut was more like lukewarm drizzle. Saddle up, cowboy. The range giveth, and the range taketh away… usually during Week 1.
