Obsidian Hymn

Born from the first mentor who stood at the creek's edge and refused to let a ward drown in despair. The Obsidian Hymn echoes through the stained glass corridors of the guardian enclave, a reminder that protection is not passive but a fierce, resonant declaration. It is the sound of light breaking through darkness, transformed into something harder, more enduring.

Manifests as a pulsing black stone inscribed with golden musical notation that vibrates when a ward approaches danger. When activated, it releases a harmonic resonance that steadies shaky hands and clears mental fog—a bell-earned intervention wrapped in dark beauty. The stone never cracks, only grows more lustrous with each use.

A mentor's final gift to a ward facing elimination—the decisive intervention that shifts fate. When all odds fail, the Obsidian Hymn activates to preserve both score and spirit, a protective resonance that declares the bearer worthy of survival.
