Oxbow Testament
Yoked to the Journey
My Notches Weigh More Than Yours
Aspects refreshed Jul 31, 2026
According to legend, the Oxbow Testament emerged from the wreckage of the 1847 cholera outbreak, when survivors used their broken wagon yokes to mark the graves of the fallen. The curved wood became a symbol that the journey continues regardless of loss, that the oxbow must keep pulling even when the team thins. The wood somehow resists breaking, as if the frontier itself insists the journey must be completed.
The Oxbow Testament appears as a curved piece of aged hardwood, darkened to the color of burnt umber, the outer curve worn smooth by generations of hands. Along its inner edge run deep tally marks - each notch represents a league completed, a river crossed, a mountain passed. The wood remains warm to the touch regardless of temperature, as if carrying the heat of constant labor, and emits a faint creaking sound when the bearer faces elimination, like a wagon wheel warning of structural stress.
This entity marks those who have proven they can maintain position in the wagon column through all four leagues without abandoning the collective. It serves as proof that the bearer was yoked to the journey and pulled their weight when others faltered, distinguishing the Homesteader from the Drifter through demonstrated commitment to continuation rather than surrender.

Commentary from Flippy (your trapped narrator)
Carved from a cholera wagon’s yoke, Tag 47 radiates heat like a fever dream. It creaks ominously when your card collapses, tallying your failures like dead pioneers. It doesn't care about your backhand; it just wants a beast of burden to drag it across the digital mud. It’s heavy, haunted, and already disappointed in you.
Chris Cuoco has been saddled with Tag 47, the Oxbow Testament. This haunted yoke-wood radiates heat like a fever dream, creaking ominously when your card collapses. It doesn't care about your backhand; it just wants a beast of burden. The tally marks are judging you. Keep your powder dry, Chris.
