Scar Threshold

The first bearer was a raider known only as 'The Threshold' - a player who entered the dragon's vault seventeen times and survived each incursion. Each time they returned, they bore a new mark. Eventually, they stopped hiding their scars and began wearing them as badges of honor, becoming the living embodiment of survival's cost. The name passed to their successors, becoming a title earned through repeated survival.

The tag appears as a worn leather disc, roughly the size of a disc golf marker, with a rough silver coin embedded at its center. The leather is darkened in patches from accumulated exposure to vault conditions, and fine tally marks circle the outer edge representing successful incursions. Embedded metallic fragments from various vault challenges are pressed into the surface. The tag cannot be destroyed - only transferred through legitimate challenge - emphasizing the permanence of survival status.

The Scar Threshold serves as a mentor's mark within the Iron Hoard's hierarchy - bearers are expected to guide newer raiders through the vault's dangers, sharing the wisdom of their scars. It represents the middle tier of survival: those who have proven they can enter the vault and return, but haven't yet achieved legendary status as Claimants of the Hoard.
