The Iron Crown Marks Its Own
The Arena Culls the Proud
Aspects refreshed May 19, 2026
The Grim Crown doesn't exist until claimed - it materializes around the brow of whoever first touches the Iron Hoard's heart, manifesting from the stolen treasure itself as proof of their successful raid. It has no fixed form until the moment of claiming, at which point it crystallizes from the very essence of the Hoard.
The Grim Crown manifests as a twisted circlet of black iron and burnished gold, with sharp points that curve inward like dragon's teeth. Dark runes pulse along its surface, appearing to drink in the surrounding light. It cannot be transferred willingly - only claimed through defeating the current bearer in the arena. The crown glows faintly when the bearer approaches more treasure, guiding them to greater spoils, and displays the scars of every previous bearer as runes on its surface, carrying their legacy forward.
The Grim Crown creates a target on its bearer - wearers are marked as the ones to defeat, drawing aggression from challengers who seek to claim the Hoard's power for themselves. This makes every bearer a dramatic focal point in the league, transforming ordinary competition into legendary confrontations where the ultimate prize is at stake.

The Grim Crown congealed from the Iron Hoard’s surplus ego. At #29, this twisted black iron circlet is a petty tyrant waiting for a brow to bruise. It doesn’t rest; it audits. Runes pulse with judgment, sharp points itching to correct your posture. Claiming it isn’t a coronation; it’s signing a liability waiver for a migraine.
David Leal touched the Hoard’s heart and the #29 Grim Crown crystallized onto his skull. Black iron, glowing runes, and a sudden migraine. He didn't just find loot; he got promoted to middle management in the dungeon. The runes are already auditing his stance.
