The Blaze Consumes the Bearer
Aspects refreshed May 30, 2026
The Trail Blaze emerged from the first season of the Stumptown Settlement, when a player carved their score into a fallen cedar using the head of their axe - the burn mark from that first blaze became the template for all who followed, now represented by a permanently scorched trail marker passed between the most aggressive territorial takers.
The Trail Blaze appears as a deliberately burned trail scorched into the surface of a stump cross-section, with char marks radiating outward like the paths pioneers carved through the forest. The burn pattern is asymmetric, suggesting movement and progress rather than static defense. A faint amber glow emanates from the deepest char marks, and the wood around the blaze is darkened as if exposed to decades of fire. The tag is warm to the touch even in winter, as if the original blaze still burns.
The Trail Blaze serves as a record of aggressive territorial expansion - holders are recognized as players who don't simply defend existing claims but actively push into new territory, carving their path through the competition. When this tag is held, other players in the Stumptown Settlement know they face someone who defines how the game is played rather than following others' strategies.
