Every Challenger Wants My Stump
Aspects refreshed May 30, 2026
The first Timber Oath was sworn by the original land rush winner who drove their axe into the first stump at Pier Park, declaring their territory before the settlement existed. That original oath became the template for all future territorial claims, and the tag itself carries the weight of that foundational declaration.
The tag appears as a weathered stump cross-section, its surface worn smooth by countless hands. Dark rings spiral inward toward a center that seems to pulse with faint amber light. Deep axe marks scar the outer edge, and the wood is stained with the unmistakable brown of PNW mud.
The Timber Oath grants the holder authority to challenge any other territorial claim in the Stumptown Settlement - it represents the original pioneer declaration that all other claims derive from, making it the ultimate proof of legitimacy in the ruthless land rush.
