Before the first Ronin of the Green entered the Canopy Dojo, the primordial veil between ordinary existence and predatory competition did not exist. The ancient spirits who shaped the arena wove a membrane from the dreams of every competitor who would ever dare to climb the hierarchical canopy - a living boundary that transforms with each warrior who passes through it, leaving fragments of their former self caught in its ethereal fibers like pressed flowers in mulberry paper.

The Hollow Veil manifests as an endless vertical curtain of impossibly thin rice paper layers, each sheet separated by the faintest whisper of air. The sheets are stained with ink-wash gradients representing every competitive journey ever undertaken in the Canopy Dojo - dark pools where victories were won, light streaks where defeats were suffered. The veil moves constantly though no wind blows, as if breathing in anticipation of the next warrior to pass through. Those who look closely can see their own reflection in its surface, but distorted - showing not their physical form but the predator they truly are in the arena's sacred space.

The Hollow Veil serves as the guardian of transformation in the Canopy Dojo - it is the threshold every Ronin of the Green must cross to shed their previous competitive identity and emerge as the predator needed to climb the hierarchical canopy.
