Ley Lineage

The Ley Lineage traces back to the First Conclave, when the original Archmages inscribed their blood and name directly into the mana beneath Fort Steilacoom, creating an indelible connection between caster and ley line that passes to their successors through ritual inheritance.

The Ley Lineage manifests as a crystallized disc of pale blue mana, internally containing swirling genealogical patterns that resolve into faces and names when held to the light. The edges are carved with ancient runes that pulse faintly with each use of magic. It cannot be transferred through sale—only inherited or earned through formal Conclave ritual—and grows heavier when the bearer's magical standing weakens.

The Ley Lineage serves as a permanent record of magical achievement that follows practitioners throughout their career in the Lakewood Conclave, accumulating or losing depth based on season performance. It determines standing within the hierarchy and grants bearers the authority to contest territorial claims on contested ley line intersections.
