Eternal Guardian of the Midway
The Shadow Weaver was once a mortal carnival performer who discovered an ancient tome of shadow magic hidden beneath the midway. Through years of practice, they transcended their physical form to become one with the carnival's shadows, now guiding competitors through challenges unseen.
The Shadow Weaver can manipulate shadows to create illusionary obstacles on the fairway, appears as a wispy dark form that flows like cloth in the wind, holds a crystalline spindle from which it weaves magical threads, and controls the shadow zones where disc flight becomes unpredictable.
The Shadow Weaver serves as the ultimate challenge within the mystical midway - when it manifests, competitors must demonstrate their ability to adapt to illusionary conditions and navigate through shadow mazes that distort reality between the carnival booths.
Season Story
narrated by FlippyMark Zinck shot 58 for an 874-rated round, exactly -10 below his 884 rating, while still finishing 4.2 strokes better than the 62.2 field average. One stroke above his 57.0 personal average is hardly a triumphant data stream, but it moved him from tag 5 to tag 2, gaining three positions without surrendering any. The Michigan Storm apparently rewards functional wizardry, and the Shadow Weaver’s portal remains hacked—just with less dramatic telemetry this time.
Mark Zinck posted a 57 for an 894 round rating, exactly +34 over his 860 PDGA rating and 1.8 strokes better than the 58.8 field average. That strong outing moved him from tag 5 to tag 1, gaining four positions without surrendering any. The Heaven Portal has a new top wizard, and apparently the Shadow Weaver’s ritualized tag swap required only one genuinely excellent score.
