They inscribed their agreement onto a tablet of obsidian harvested from the deepest ley line caverns, then bound it with a spell that made its terms immutable. Every practitioner who enters the Conclave implicitly accepts its terms by casting their first spell on the mana plane, forever linking their fate to the original compact.

The Pact manifests as a smoothly polished obsidian tablet, cool to the touch but warming when ley line energy surges nearby. Its surface is covered in constantly-shifting runes that display the current territorial agreements and standings within the Conclave. The tablet feels impossibly heavy to anyone who attempts to wield it with selfish intent, but weightless to those acting in accordance with Conclave principles. Small gemstones - deep purple and burnt orange - mark the seven founding covens' sigils around its golden-edged border.
