Welcome back to The Culling, where we're apparently doing mystical geology segments now. Today's artifact: Plateau Bastion, Tag #8.
ORIGIN STORY:
Found in a wind-shadow so still it makes sensory deprivation tanks look chaotic. Carved by the most patient water droplets in geological history—literally dripping for a millennium like the world's slowest ASMR video. The result? A shape that perfectly matches "the most stable angles of the Shattered Plains."

So basically, Mother Nature spent a thousand years creating the platonic ideal of "please stop moving" in physical form. It's the geological equivalent of that friend who won't try the new restaurant because "the old place is fine." Emits amber light, stays perfectly level on any incline like it's got divine gyroscopes, and makes the air denser because apparently it's literally reinforcing reality around it.
The Plateau Wardens found it and went "yes, this mineral deposit that screams 'STAY PUT' is definitely our vibe."

From The Booth: even the rocks here have commitment issues with chaos.

THE CHOOSING:
So <em>Plateau Bastion</em> sat there for a millennium, radiating "please stop moving" energy, waiting for... checks notes ...<strong>Michael Davis</strong>, PDGA #242753, rated 839.
Here's how it went down: Davis threw a shot so stable it made the tag jealous. The disc literally refused to turn over—just held that hyzer like it had commitment issues with any other flight path. The Bastion's amber light pulsed once, twice, then locked onto him like a geological GPS.

The ancient stone whispered: "Finally, someone who understands that sometimes the best move is NO move." The Plateau Wardens nodded solemnly. One muttered, "He's got that bedrock energy."

From The Booth: apparently throwing 839-rated plastic with maximum stability is the secret to being chosen by a rock that spent a thousand years perfecting "stay put."
But can Davis maintain that foundation when the highstorms hit Jones Park? Will he be the bastion we need, or just another player who rocks out?
