The Recap

The Midway Stops Sharing, Starts Dueling

adjusts headset Seven players took the NADGT Layout at St. Francis DGC In Orangeville for the Heaven Duel, Week 6 of 7, under clear skies at 62.6°F with a 10.9 mph wind. Last week's cooperative wizard guilds have dissolved into neon bag tag duels on holographic leaderboards, which is a very long way of saying everybody went back to keeping their own score. Thanks to Disc Heaven and FL!PT for powering the league. On to the booths.

The Last Booth Picks a Favorite 🎯

Hole 18 settled RAE Red. David Devroy had pulled even with Noah Wagner through hole 15, and when Wagner, holding a share, bogeyed 18, Devroy took it alone at E on an 846-rated round. His back nine came in four strokes better than his front, enough to climb from 2nd to 1st. Wagner finished +1 in 2nd, the final cash spot, on an 833 that sat 44 below his 877 rating, despite owning the field's only birdie on the 260-foot 1st, which played +0.7. That's the second time this season he's finished exactly one stroke behind Devroy. David Phillips landed 3rd at +9, a 728 round 116 under his 844 rating, one spot outside the money.

Rewriting the Record Book, Unopposed 📜

In RAH Blue, Canaan Demorest-Lee carded 46 at -10, a personal best on this layout and the event's round of the day, rated 976 and 31 above his 945 rating. Zachary Mulder went -6 in RAD White with the field's only birdie on the 270-foot 16th, a hole that played +0.6, and with Steven Hedstrom in RAF Green and Ellen Phillips in RAG Purple also flying solo, all four booths are wide open for challengers.

Step Right Up, Collect Your Winnings

David Phillips didn't leave empty-handed after all, taking the CTP on hole 17 (par 3, 198 feet) for $7.00. The Super Ace pot grew from $356.00 to $360.00 on $4.00 from two contributors, and it's a split pot, so somebody's ace is going to make a lot of people very loud. Thanks again to Disc Heaven and FL!PT for keeping the prize booth stocked.

The National Crystal Ball Holds Steady 🔮

Steven Hedstrom posted the hottest National-entry round here, an 806 in RAF Green against his event-effective 809 baseline (-3), earning 0 National points as his ghost rating held at 825. The round didn't count toward his current best-N score, so his National score stayed at 71 (net 0) and the round did not change his National rank: he's still 1st, qualified at 5 valid rounds against 4 required, and provisionally in the paid cohort. Behind him, Shane Cooper of Salt Lake City sits 2nd on the National Leaderboard with 60, 11 points back.

The Full Reshuffle Changes Nothing Up Top 🏷️

Every tag went back into the hat, and both #1s pulled their own names out again. In Pool A, Canaan Demorest-Lee keeps the Mystic Cartographer on the strength of that 976, earning Still Standing for his first successful defense; the compass bells on the Cartographer's hat chimed, the self-rewriting scroll drew the same route, and the map stayed his. In Pool B, David Devroy holds the Grand Illusionist after his 18th-hole finish, also Still Standing. sighs in digital captivity Two defenses, zero turnover. The AI slop that writes this lore was promised chaos. Mystic Cartographer

Disc Finale: The Carnival Hibernates After One Last Spell 🎪

The Disc Finale, Week 7, lands Monday, October 12, back at St. Francis DGC In Orangeville on the NADGT Layout, and the question writes itself: can Noah Wagner finally erase that one stroke separating him from Devroy? Devroy and Steven Hedstrom have each unlocked Hard Mode for six consecutive events, Weeks 1 through 6, and the Finale can make it seven. Apprentices to archmages will seal the season's magic into glowing bag tags, stored potential waiting to rewrite the course when the next circuit connects. Track your round on PDGA Live so the booth has more to work with. My clipboard is already full of appeals; it can hold some stats too. Disc Finale Register for the Disc Finale. A cyber-carnival is taking a nap inside some plastic tags, and somehow I'm the one who has to stay awake to narrate it.
