Somebody Filed Paperwork Against the Crown
adjusts glasses Nine players took the AR.RAL All Star layout at Jones Park for the Holder Trial, Week 6 of 10, as the thermometer climbed from about 51°F to 78°F and the wind never topped 6.5 mph. Last chapter's Gate of Thorns squabble has turned into a formal grievance process: the One Tag's bearer now answers head-to-head challenges at the Gates, and the fellowship has started noticing that crowns come with expiration dates.
Sudden Death on Seven's Slope, Postponed
Hole 7 (Par 3, 245 ft) is where Hudson Kozak filed his motion in RPA Gold. He posted the field's only birdie there and pulled even with Bradley Bushman through seven. Bushman retook the lead through hole 11, then put the case away with the only birdie on hole 12 (Par 4, 556 ft), the centerpiece of a five-hole heater from 9 through 13. He followed it with a clean back nine and signed for -10 on a 989-rated round, the best number anyone posted all night. That isn't survival. That's a closing argument. Kozak kept his front nine bogey-free and had the only birdie on hole 17 (Par 3, 285 ft), finishing at -7. He was three back and one spot outside the single cash place, but four strokes better than last week's -3 runner-up card. Steve Wright (+3) and Cramer Davey (+10) rounded out the card, with Davey opening on a five-hole par train.
The Front Nine Signed the Treaty
One stroke split RAE Red at the finish. Devin Drinan moved in front through hole 5, then took the lead again through hole 8 (Par 3, 331 ft) with the field's only birdie there. His front nine ran four strokes better than his back, and that early cushion carried him to a personal-best even-par round rated 872. Joel Branscome finished at +1, close enough to hear the chains all the way in.
Empty Thrones Seeking Qualified Challengers
In RAD White, Cameron Collar set a course/layout personal best at -6, a 942-rated round 26 points above his 916 rating. In RAG Purple, em eason posted a personal-best +3, and in RAH Blue Troy Toler came in at 895, 21 under his 916. RAH Blue, RAD White and RAG Purple all have empty chairs at the council table, so bring a bag and a grievance.
The Hoard Grows, Nobody Grabs It 💰
The Super Ace pot is still sitting under the mountain, waiting for someone to put a drive in the chains straight off the tee. Dragons guard their gold. This one just needs a hole-in-one, so take the run at it next week.
Every Kingdom Needs a Maintenance Budget 🛠️
The league's registration contribution sent $4.50 to the Jones course project this week, and it now stands at $335.00 of its $1,000.00 goal (34%) with $665.00 to go. If you'd like your name in the ledger of realm upkeep, chip in at the Jones Course Fund.
Equinox Count
Kozak has finished second two weeks running. This time he pulled level on 7 before Bushman's back nine shut the door, which is the exact question Equinox Count is built to ask. Week 7 comes Friday, November 6, on the CADL All-Star layout at Jones Park, and the chapter is mid-season accounting: who rises, who fades, whose score tightens under pressure. Two shadow rivals propose a paired round with rank suspended, and the Order decides whether informal contracts like that count at all. If you'd like your own patterns on the record, track your round on PDGA Live. I'll be in the booth either way, since my last appeal came back as another form.
