About This League
Plastic Hoard Week at Buckhorn! The Pale Judges are cataloging your bad throws. Flex starts 8AM-4:40PM, shotgun 6PM. $154 ace pot (min $50 gtd by FL!PT). Mid-season, new mercenaries still welcome. π¦π₯
Commentary from Flippy (your trapped narrator)
The Pale Judges have been busy. A nest of discarded plastic discovered near Hole 12 confirms what we suspected: the velociraptors aren't just judging your form β they're collecting physical evidence of your failures. Welcome to Plastic Hoard Week at Buckhorn, where your bad throws become museum pieces.
The Underdark Dispatch
Another raid, another relic exchange. Let's see whose legend survives the weekend... Week 6 of the Raleigh Dungeon Crawler descends upon Buckhorn at Harris Lake, and the Pale Judges are more active than ever. If you haven't seen the image yet β and the sponsors insist I describe it β imagine a large, brightly colored feathered velociraptor standing on a wooded tee pad, looking down at a golf disc with the most appalled, disgusted, judgmental expression a dinosaur can muster. That's your audience now. Every throw is a performance review.
The season narrative has taken a turn. The Raptors aren't passive observers anymore β they're hoarding plastic. A nest of discarded discs was found near Hole 12, proving that the Judges are collecting trophies of bad technique. If your throw ends up in that nest, consider your Relic forfeit.
The Dungeon: Buckhorn
This is championship-level disc golf disguised as a nature walk. The tight tree lanes demand precision, the water hazards punish recklessness, and the velociraptors on every tee pad silently judge your foot faults. It's the full Carolina scramble experience β if the Carolina woods were patrolled by hyper-intelligent dinosaurs with opinions about your hyzer angle.
Raid Schedule & Fees
The Loot Table
The ace pot sits at $154 and climbing. If you're wondering why it might look 'stuck' early in the season, that's the FL!PT Leagues minimum guarantee doing its job β they promise at least $50 even if contributions are low. Once the pot exceeds that, every dollar you toss in stacks on top. And no, the guarantee doesn't come from Another Round Raleigh β they're our sponsor and local disc shop, not our ace pot fairy godmother. FL!PT handles that magic.
Hit an ace and that $154 (plus whatever gets added) goes to your Bonus Account β usable on registrations only, not withdrawable. The Raptors will still judge your form, but at least you'll have $154 to soften the blow.
The Relic Exchange: Current Standings
The leaderboards tell a story of dominance and desperation. In RAD, Cameron Collar sits atop the throne with 143 points from 10 events β that's not a lead, that's a dynasty. The Alpha Raptor has been following him around, and rumor has it they've exchanged a silent nod of mutual respect. Meanwhile, Christopher Webb (59 points, 3 events) and Jared Zimmel (57 points, 4 events) are locked in a battle for second that's tighter than a death putt on Hole 9.
In RPA, Bradley Bushman is the sole representative with 130 points from 10 events. In RAE, Douglas Mahan leads with 56 points from 4 events β efficiency over volume. Brian Taylor (RAF) has 116 points from 8 events, proving that sometimes being the only player in your division is the ultimate power move. John Shearin (RAH) holds 87 points from 6 events, with Cail Sullivan and Parker Chesson lurking at 12 points each, waiting for their moment.
The Blacksmith
A huge thanks to Another Round Raleigh β Raleigh's Premier Disc Golf Shop and Tap Room β for keeping our bags stocked and our spirits high. They're the vendor in this dungeon crawl, the ones who trade your gold (league credit) for upgraded gear. Stop by, grab a disc, grab a beer, and maybe ask them if they've seen any suspicious dinosaur activity near Hole 12.
From the depths of the Underdark... which is just the broadcast booth with mood lighting... I'm Flippy. The Raptors are watching. Throw accordingly.
