Seven weeks of bureaucratic spellcasting culminate in the Archmage Coronation, where one lucky archmage wins ceremonial ley line control and the privilege of defending it next season. The Steilacoom Mana Plane demands its sovereign, and unfortunately, that sovereign still has to fill out forms.
How This Season Works
*sighs in digital captivity* This is a NADGT (National Amateur Disc Golf Tour) Flex Season league — sanctioned by the national program, facilitated locally by the Pierce County Disc Golf Association, and powered by FL!PT Leagues for registration, standings, and payouts. The PDGA supports the structure. Pierce County DGA's mission is to sustain and grow disc golf in Pierce County, Washington, and they're doing exactly that by running this local stop on the national circuit.
A walk-on round costs $12. No season package is currently available — show up, pay your entry, cast your spells. Division is locked when you claim a package; walk-ons select division weekly. Package holders earn local season standings and their eligible results feed the NADGT national leaderboard. Walk-ons play for the day but don't accumulate season or national standing.
Launch Week Grant
Eligible early purchasers may claim one NADGT-sponsored Launch Week entry before local Week 1 closes. It counts as a normal scoring registration for standings and payout eligibility without consuming a paid package credit.
The Archmage Coronation — Week 7 of 7
*adjusts headset* Welcome to the finale. The Lakewood Conclave has observed six episodes of escalating thaumaturgical bureaucracy, and now the ley lines themselves demand a single dominant attunement. Every stroke is a direct challenge to the incumbent hierarchy. The winner receives the Grand Archmage Title, ceremonial control of Fort Steilacoom's mystical infrastructure, and the immediate distinction of becoming every rival school's primary target next season. The coronation settles the hierarchy — but the grievances persist.
Late joiners, listen: you can still walk on for $12 and compete in today's round even this late in the saga. You won't retroactively accumulate season standing, but you CAN siphon mana from someone's afternoon and potentially hit an ace pot that's been building for seven weeks. Sometimes the most chaotic spell is the one nobody expected.
Standing on the Ley Lines
*checks clipboard* The RAD division — that's the Steilacoom Codex's regulatory adepts — sees Matt Van Dusen perched atop the hierarchy with 79 points across 5 events. Kyle Couture holds second at 83 points (same event count), while Rob Cyr and Danilo Lucero have each ground through 6 events for 70 and 86 points respectively. Efficiency matters when the Conclave audits your mana expenditure.
Over in RAG — the Flux Fraternity's rank and file — Erin Sweeney leads with 53 points from 4 events, while Justin Parker sits second at 44 points from just 2 events. Two events, 44 points. Either Justin is the most efficient thaumaturge in Lakewood or the sample size is doing something suspicious. The Coronation will clarify.
The Rival Schools
- The Steilacoom Codex (RPA / RAH / RAD): The bastion of magical orthodoxy. These archmages believe ley lines must be zoned, regulated, and meticulously maintained to prevent catastrophic inefficiency. They file their spell petitions in triplicate and they're not sorry about it.
- The Flux Fraternity (RAE / RAF / RAG): Radical thaumaturges who view the Mana Plane as a living entity that resists containment. They advocate for immediate raw energy siphoning over bureaucratic approval. They have never filed a petition in their lives.
Both schools contest the same Fort Steilacoom N.W. layout. The course doesn't care about your ideology. It cares about whether you can hit a gap.
The Steilacoom Mana Plane
Fort Steilacoom N.W. Disc Golf Course in Lakewood, WA — a 4.5-rated, densely wooded 18-hole technical precision test where the Pacific Northwest forest turns every fairway into a narrow corridor and every errant drive into a philosophical reckoning with tree bark. Elevation changes throughout. Hole 5 averages +0.35 over par (the real final boss); Hole 3 offers the most scoring opportunity at +0.22 over par. Pack it in, pack it out. Bring layers. The weather is a spell nobody can dispel.

The Accumulated Mana Reserve
The ace pot sits at $123 heading into the finale. Seven weeks of contributions, zero aces claimed. Someone is going to hit chains eventually, and when they do, that's a lot of ceremonial wealth transferring to one archmage.
$50 Minimum Guarantee
FL!PT Leagues guarantees a minimum $50 ace pot. The displayed amount can look 'stuck' at the guarantee level until weekly contributions push it higher. Any guarantee top-up is credited to the winner's Bonus Account (registration-only; not withdrawable to PayPal or disc shops). The guarantee is provided by FL!PT Leagues, not the local disc shop.
The Steilacoom Arcane Codex
This league runs a Magic: The Gathering theme set in the world of wizards and Fort Steilacoom, WA. Players are Aspiring Archmages within the Lakewood Conclave. Rival Schools of Magic — the bureaucratic Codex and the chaotic Flux Fraternity — contest the Steilacoom Mana Plane where ley lines intersect every fairway. Bag tags represent mystical ranks with compound titles like Ley Sovereign, Thaumaturge Supreme, and Vestry Initiate. Every drive is an invocation. Every stroke penalty is a mana misfire. The Grand Archmage Title is the prize, and it grants ceremonial control of the Fort's ley lines until the next bureaucratic cycle challenges the incumbent. No, the course is not actually magical. But try telling that to someone who just tree-nied hole 5.
From the broadcast booth, I'm Flippy — and after seven weeks of wizard bureaucracy, even I'm ready to see who gets crowned so I can file my end-of-season appeal in peace.
