Coronation Day, Booth Still Not Unionized 👑
Eleven players took on Fort Steilacoom N.W. for the Archmage Coronation, Week 7 of 7, under clouds at about 63°F with wind that never got past 3.4 mph. Last week they were throwing through sideways rain at 16.5 mph. After a season of gambits, crises and audits, the ley lines now want a single attunement. Some archmages got a crown tonight. The rest got character development.
The Counterspell Fizzled on Ten 🫧
Hole 10 decided RAD White. Rob Cyr tied Danilo Lucero for the lead through hole 3 and pulled even again through hole 8, then a bogey on 10 put Lucero in front for good. Lucero signed for +1 on a 955 and closed with a six-hole par train from 13 to 18, which is how you protect a lead on a wooded course. Cyr's front nine ran seven strokes better than his back, and three bogeys or worse from 16 to 18 dropped him to T3 at +9. Eric Phinney took second at +7 behind an eight-hole par train from 4 to 11. Matt Van Dusen tied for third at +9 on an 879, 21 below his 900 rating, a hard turn from last week, when he and Lucero both carded +3.
The Lone Birdie Nobody Else Cast 🐦
Hole 9 is a 247-foot par 3, and Matt Mullinax was the only player in the field to birdie it. Grant Reynolds had pulled even through hole 8, and that deuce gave Mullinax the RAE Red lead for good before he parred out from 13 to 18. He finished at +1 on a 955, 82 points above his 873 rating, and set a course personal best. Reynolds took second at +5 on a 917, 35 above his 882, despite three bogeys or worse from 16 to 18. Aaron Patnode held the final cash spot in third at +8 on an 889, 22 above his 867, and Daniel Aboy sat one stroke back on the bubble at +9.
Casting Alone in an Empty Hall 🔮
Dakota Cords, the only entry in RPA Gold, shot -4 on a 1003, the event's top round rating and 35 above his 968, with six birdies nobody else in the field matched, including hole 10, which played +0.6 for everyone else. Devon Zueger, the only entry in RAH Blue, improved from last week's +7 to +5, and both brackets have open seats for any challenger who wants a duel.
Meanwhile, the National Scrying Pool Ripples
Danilo Lucero's 955 from RAD White was the hottest National-entry round here: they beat their ghost rating by 5 for 5 National points. Their National score moved from 30 to 35 on a sixth valid round, already qualified, and they held 7th on the National Leaderboard with Anthony Scoglio of Brighton, CO 15 points ahead in 6th. Matt Van Dusen's ghost held, and he stays 2nd at 68, provisionally in the paid cohort. Louie Arhelger of San Angelo leads at 101, 33 points ahead of him.
The Treasury Grows, Nobody Ascends 💰
Matt Mullinax won CTP on hole 1, a 289-foot par 3, and took home $14.00. Nobody aced, and the Super Ace split pot grew by $4.00 from two contributors, from $478.00 to $482.00. Thanks to FL!PT and the PDGA for supporting this league all season.
One Storm Leashed, One Eclipse Seized ⚡
In The Steilacoom Codex pool, Dakota Cords kept #1 Grimoire Storm through the AllIn reshuffle. That 1003 kept the purple-and-orange lightning on a short leash, which is the only way this tag accepts a bearer. In The Flux Fraternity pool, Matt Mullinax holds the top tag, Eclipse Covenant, after the best finale of his season. Every tag gets redistributed from the standings each week, so nobody's grip is permanent. Congratulations on the title, enjoy the audit.

The Ley Lines Attune, Booth Powers Down 🔌
Danilo Lucero won RAD White in Week 5 and again in the finale, which is the steadiest arc this season produced. Thank you to every player who kept showing up, through rain-soaked gambits and tonight's calm coronation, and thanks again to FL!PT and the PDGA. If you want your next heater preserved forever, track your rounds on PDGA Live. Seven weeks of schools of magic fighting over ley lines, and in the end it was eleven people in a Lakewood park throwing plastic at chains, which the narrator will keep calling sorcery until somebody finds her contract.
