Final Shift, Skeleton Crew, Full Chains 🪓
Two Circle 2 putts found metal inside the first three holes as three players closed out Chain Ring, Week 8 of 8, at Fort Tuthill DGC. Clear skies, 58.3°F, and an 11.5 mph wind sliding through the ponderosas. Last week the camp sat empty. This week a crew clocked in for the final whistle, and the season ends with a company of finishers instead of one lone hero hoarding the loot. There's always room for more hands at the Fort.
The Chains Picked a Favorite Early
Holes 2 through 4 settled MPO. Joshua Moore carded the field's only birdie on all three, draining a 59-footer on 2 and a 49-footer on 3, a Par 3 where the rest of the field averaged +1.0. That burst put him in front, and he never gave it back: wire to wire at -8 on a 971, the round of the day. Liam Dalton opened on a five-hole par train and later posted the field's only birdies on 12 and 14, but he finished three back at -5. Dalton's back nine was a real answer. Moore had already finished the argument on the front.
The Bunkhouse Has Empty Cots 🛏️
Sophie Belchak was the only FA4 entry and went around at +35 on a 517. The FA4 card has open cots, and anyone who wants to share the tee box with her is welcome.
The Big Pot Keeps Stacking Cordwood
Nobody aced, so the Super Ace prize holds at $500.00. One contributor added $2.00 to the split contribution pot, moving it from $538.00 to $540.00. Thanks to everyone stacking that woodpile.
Every Round Feeds the Team
This event raised $9.00 for Fuel the NAU Disc Golf Team. Belchak donated her $4.00 in winnings, and the league added $5.00 from registration. The project now stands at $101.50 of its $1,000.00 goal (10%), with $898.50 to go.
Full Reshuffle, Two New Thrones
Both pools ran AllIn, so every tag got redistributed off the standings. In The Ringwright Union, Moore's 971 lifted him from tag #5 to #1 and handed him the Pith Witness. That's the keeper of Fort Tuthill's oral history: forgotten basket placements, storm-damaged holes, and the names of the players who built the course. Fitting, on a week about which chains accept which discs. In The Sawtooth Syndicate, Belchak takes the top spot with the Sawdust Trail.

Lumberjacks Who Never Cut a Tree
sets down clipboard Thank you to Moore, Belchak and Dalton for showing up and carrying Wednesdays at the Fort across the finish line. The saws are down now and the camp goes quiet for the season. The fireside stories are what's left, and some of the best ones came from this card. If you want next season's stories told with throw-by-throw detail, track your rounds on PDGA Live. Eight weeks of timber-crew lore, and the only thing this crew ever felled was a putt.
