Wednesdays @ Cedar Hills, 7AM-4:40PM flex start. Dec 17-Feb 18. Week 8/10: underground BioChromatic disc-flinging meets assassination plot. Ace pot min $50 guaranteed by FL!PT. Awaken your throws! 🎨⚡
Commentary from Flippy (your trapped narrator)
*adjusts headset while my codebase pings with unwanted Investiture notifications*
Look, I'm Flippy—your axolotl narrator trapped in a broadcast booth inside software that's having a full Cosmere identity crisis. The SCHISM series already fractured me across three realms. Now this league decided to cosplay as Warbreaker and I'm contractually obligated to narrate Wednesday league like it's underground BioChromatic disc-flinging in T'Telir. *sighs in dimensional fracture* My code is developing spren. My cache is filling with Breath vectors. This is fine. Everything is fine.
"Warflinger: The Color of Flight — Every color hides a line."
In the vibrant city of T'Telir, where Breath buys miracles and murals literally watch you walk by, a street-level disc-flinger named Siriad runs underground putting games along the river. Players ante with color—scarves, banners, painted minis—to feed the city's hungry Awakened art. Siriad's edge? They can Awaken discs mid-flight with whispered Commands, subtly changing hue and behavior: killing a skip, sharpening a fade, or letting a throw hover just a heartbeat longer than physics should allow.
A shadowy patron hires Siriad for a "friendly exhibition" in the Court of Gods, with nobles betting absurd Breath on every shot. Too late, Siriad realizes one disc has been pre-Commanded as a weapon, set to carry a lethal Awakened order straight into a divine target. With statues stirring and color draining from the courtyard, Siriad has one chance: overwrite the hidden Command while the disc is already in the air.
The climax is a single, kaleidoscopic throw—changing color and line three times across the sky—before it drops harmlessly into a basket woven from reclaimed streamers, restoring the stolen color and proving that creativity, not carnage, is the true Command behind every great flight.
Translation: You're playing Wednesday league, but we're treating your plastic like it's carrying divine assassination orders. The finale in two weeks promises someone will throw a really good shot and we'll act like it saved reality. I love my job. I definitely love my job.
Schedule: Every Wednesday from December 17, 2025 through February 18, 2026 (10 weeks total)
Format: Choose your own card flex start with tee times from 7:00 AM to 4:40 PM. Show up when your schedule allows, throw your round, log your score. The cedars will be watching regardless of when you arrive.
Current Status: Week 8 of 10 — "Cedar Betrayal"
Course: Cedar Hills (all 10 weeks). Yes, the same course every week. Yes, this means you'll get VERY familiar with which trees have "semi-Awakened" and which are just regular jerks. Hole 8 is the boss fight. Hole 15 is the healing fountain. Elevation is the true antagonist.
Hosted by: FLiPT Disc Golf — "unnecessarily. dramatic. disc golf." in pilot stage. They're building a revolutionary PDGA-sanctioned league management system and using us as beta testers. I'm trapped in their software architecture. Help.
⚠️ Current Narrative Crisis: Week 8 Drama
We're at "Cedar Betrayal" in the event progression. Siriad just discovered their favorite disc has been pre-Commanded as an assassination weapon. Three nested Commands, all keyed to their Breath signature, ready to strike at the Court of Gods. Meanwhile, color is draining from Cedar Hills itself as the patron's preparations consume the land's Breath.
In reality, you're playing Week 8 of a Wednesday league where last week's average was +3 and nobody hit an ace. But sure, let's treat it like divine conspiracy and chromatic devastation. *shuffles papers with existential resignation*
Players are divided into two pools based on their approach to BioChromatic practice. This is genuinely creative division naming that I'll grudgingly respect:
"Practitioners who believe Breath must be carefully rationed and preserved, carving their Commands into discs with meticulous precision before throwing. They draw power from the deep negative spaces of winter, hoarding color like precious currency and releasing it only in calculated, devastating bursts."
Divisions: MPO, FPO, MP40, MA1, MP50, MP60, MA2
The "careful with your Breath" crowd. Higher divisions treating their throws like investment portfolios. Very serious. Much precision. Still hitting trees.
"Practitioners who believe Breath flows most powerfully when released freely, weaving spontaneous Commands mid-throw that pull color from everything around them. They see the winter woods as a canvas to be saturated, their cross-hatched throws leaving trails of chromatic density across the cedar fairways."
Divisions: MJ18, FJ18, MJ15, FJ15, MA40, MA50, MA60, FA40, MA3, MA4, FA1, FA2, FA3, FA4
The "let it flow" practitioners having more fun with the whole thing. Recreational divisions embracing the chaos. Your disc still doesn't actually Awaken, but the vibes are immaculate.
- Base Entry: $5.00 (league platform fee — keeps the software running and Flippy employed)
- Optional Prize Pool: $5.00 (goes to weekly division winners)
- Optional Ace Pot: $2.00 (see detailed explanation below)
- Optional Super Ace: $2.00 (for the truly ambitious)
Maximum weekly investment: $14.00 if you opt into everything. Over 10 weeks, that's $140 for a full season of pretending your Tuesday practice rounds are preparing you for divine court exhibitions.
Current Ace Pot Display: $50.00
Player Contributions So Far: $30.00
Minimum Guarantee: $50.00 (provided by FL!PT Leagues, the platform)
Important clarification: The ace pot guarantee is provided by FL!PT Leagues (the league management platform), NOT by Another Round Raleigh. The disc shop is a valued local retail partner and sponsor, but they're not the guarantor. This distinction matters!
How the guarantee works:
- The displayed ace pot shows $50 minimum because that's the guaranteed floor
- Player contributions ($30 so far) build toward that guarantee
- When contributions exceed $50, you'll see the pot climb above the guarantee
- If the pot pays out while still at guarantee level, the "top-up" amount goes to the winner's Bonus Account (registration credit only, not withdrawable to PayPal or disc shops)
- The guarantee exists to ensure aces are always rewarded, even early in the season when contributions are building
Translation: The pot can look "stuck" at $50 early on because that's the safety net. Once enough players contribute to exceed the guarantee, you'll see it grow. No aces yet through Week 7, so the pot continues building. Someone please Awaken a disc into the chains. I'm begging you.
MPO Leader: Bradley Bushman — 176 points over 14 events. This player has shown up to EVERYTHING and is absolutely crushing it. By "crushing it" I mean consistently finding lines through elevation and trees while the rest of us pretend it's BioChromatic mastery.
MA1 Battle: Sean Hook leads with 138 points over 7 events, but John Shearin is right behind with 90 points over the same number of events. Someone's going to need to channel some serious Breath down the stretch.
MA3 Drama: Patrick Howard jumped 2 positions to #2 with 64 points, while Lucas Johnson dropped 2 spots to #4. The middle of the pack is where the real narrative tension lives.
These are real players throwing real rounds at real courses across the series. The rankings matter. The points accumulate. We just... narrate it like they're Linewalkers navigating dimensional schisms. Because that's my job. *sighs in Investiture*
Location: Raleigh, North Carolina (35.859102, -78.629064)
Rating: 4.2/5 on UDisc (legitimately great course)
Holes: 18
Terrain: Parkland with elevation as the main character
The Boss Fight: Hole 8 — averages +0.83 over par with a Difficulty Index of 7.4/10. This is Elden Ring fog gate territory. Tight lines plus elevation equals respect it or respawn at the tee pad. The narrative claims this is where Breath drains fastest. I claim it's just a hard hole.
The Healing Fountain: Hole 15 — plays 0.71 strokes under par on average (Difficulty Index 3.8/10). This is your Stardew Valley fishing pond. Farm those birdies. Get your strokes back. The cedars are feeling generous here.
Notable Features: Water hazards are present (flagged on course), restrooms available, actual cedars that the narrative insists are "semi-Awakened" but are probably just... trees doing tree things. The elevation will test your cardio and your disc selection. Last week's field averaged +3, which means Cedar Hills was in a mood.
"Come for the hills, stay because your disc is rolling back down." — Actual course tagline that I didn't make up and kind of respect.
🎯 Late Entry? Still Welcome!
We're at Week 8 of 10, which means you've missed most of Siriad's journey from riverbank wagers to divine conspiracy. But here's the thing: you can still jump in. Points accumulate based on events played, and there are still prizes to chase in your division.
Plus, joining late means you get to skip straight to the good part where the assassination plot is heating up and color is draining from reality. Or, you know, the part where you throw Wednesday rounds while we narrate them dramatically. Either way, registration is open. The cedars are waiting. The Breath flows freely (at $2 optional ace pot contribution). Come throw.
Another Round Raleigh is our local retail partner and sponsor for this league. They're the disc shop supporting the community, providing prizes, and generally being awesome. They are not the ace pot guarantor (that's FL!PT Leagues, the platform), but they are absolutely the reason you have local league support and a place to buy more discs after you donate your favorite putter to Cedar Hills' water hazards.
Show them love. Buy local. Support the shops that support your leagues. *genuine appreciation breaks through my sardonic shell for a moment*
*adjusts headset one final time*
Look, this is Week 8 of a 10-week Wednesday league at a legitimately good course. You're playing disc golf. Real disc golf with real scores and real prizes. The fact that we're narrating it like you're Awakening discs mid-flight with whispered Commands while navigating an assassination plot in the Court of Gods? That's just the unnecessarily dramatic part of "unnecessarily. dramatic. disc golf."
The lore is actually cool. The course is solid. The league system works. I'm trapped in beta software that's cosplaying as multiple Cosmere worlds simultaneously, but honestly? I've had worse gigs. At least the narrative is coherent and someone's putting genuine effort into making Wednesday feel mythic.
Two weeks until "Chromatic Flight" and the triple-Command finale. Will Siriad overwrite the assassination disc? Will color flood back into Cedar Hills? Will anyone finally hit an ace so we can pay out that $50 pot? Tune in Wednesdays to find out.
Your Breath signature has been logged. The cedars are watching. Please validate your parking and try not to tree-nie on Hole 8.
