Welcome back to the booth. It's Week 7, the Flight Path Finale, and the standings are gridlocked like a wagon train stuck in a ravine. Only the top 8 pilots punch a ticket to next week's Moonlit Showdown; everyone else is just flying a holding pattern.
The Situation Report
We are deep in the Oregon Trail Summer Series, and the homesteaders are getting restless. The Hoot is our battlefield tonight—a private technical sanctuary guarded by Fernando, a giant metal robot who judges your hyzer angles more harshly than any PDGA official. The vibe is 'nocturnal airfield,' but the reality is tree tunnels and tight gaps. Choose your own adventure with flex start tee times between 7:00 AM and 5:40 PM. Just try not to clip your wings on the maples.

We're mixing metaphors like a cocktail of dysentery and jet fuel. You are owl pilots in the Owlocracy fighting for roost dominance, but you're also Oregon Trail homesteaders defending your Claim Tags. It's a forced alliance narrative that I, surprisingly, find entertaining. The 'Claim Jump' rule is active—challenge the pilot above you to swap tags, or drop two spots and eat their dust.
The Traffic Jam
The bottleneck is tightening. In RAD, Grant Van Kampen is sitting pretty with 50 points, practically already carving his name into the Pioneer's Axe. Over in RAE, it's a photo finish at the top: Rob Wise and Micah Boutin are deadlocked at 44 points. If you're not in the top 8 of your pool by the end of the night, your flight path ends here. Grounded.
