The Thaw Came, Same Scores Showed Up
For the second straight week, two -15 cards topped the field. Ten players took the AR Johnny League W/O 2+3 layout at Johnny Roberts for Week 7 of 10, "Thaw Protocol," in 43.4 to 67.6°F air with wind topping out at 8.3 mph. Foundry Fault's frost has given way to recovery, and the Master Regulator's journal is now communal reading, with competitive precision on one page and cooperative timing on the other. The Regulator, inconveniently, needs both.
Cooperative Timing, Taken Way Too Literally ⚙️
Jacko Todd led RAH Blue from hole 6 on, riding a 10-hole hot streak from 1 through 10. Shane Steinhoff answered with six straight from 12 through 17 and drew level at -15. Neither card shows a bogey. Their matching 994s are the round of the day, and Steinhoff's sits 44 above his 950. Todd climbed four strokes from last week's -11. The journal's sanctuary faction just got its exhibit.
Back Nine Pressure Valve Finally Opened
Hole 15 settled RAE Red. Daniel Harper had the lead back through 15 from David Pionke, who had held it since hole 9, then birdied 18 to sign for -11. Harper's back nine ran five strokes better than the front, bogey-free on a 931. Pionke stayed just as clean at -10 on a 915, 49 above his 866. Only first place cashed, so that single stroke was the whole paycheck.
The Lead Lasted Two Holes 🕰️
A double on hole 13 flipped RAD White. Anthony Scoglio led through hole 11, went 2 over on 13, and Peter Cannon led from there to -8 on an 883, clean through the front nine. Scoglio birdied 14 and played the next three at 2 under, finishing -4 on an 820, 66 below his 886. Cannon landed 97 points under last week's layout-best 980. That's the tax on a personal best.
Steam Built Slowly, Released at Eighteen
Hole 5 turned RAF Green. Nathan Dodson shared the lead until a bogey there, and Jason Skjaret took over for good, closing with three straight birdies from 16 through 18 for a bogey-free -10 on a 915, 67 above his 848. Dodson finished even on a 756, 73 below his 829, a sharp turn from last week's clean -8. Michael Penney opened with a five-hole par train and finished at -5.
One Tinker, Open Workbench Seats
Josh Martin posted -6 in RPA Gold with a clean back nine. The workbench seats more than one, so bring a putter and give them company.
The Carryover Vent Blew at Eighteen
Three skins cards moved $99.00 among all 10 players. On the 9:40 card, Daniel Harper scooped a seven-skin carryover on 18 worth $28.00 and finished with 10 skins for $40.00, while Jacko Todd took 8 for $32.00. Shane Steinhoff collected 14 on the 3:20 card for $10.50. David Pionke topped the 9:20 card with 9, ahead of Scoglio's 7. The skins playbook explains the format.
Feeding the Park's Own Gear-Train
The league's $5.00 registration contribution went to the course fund this week, bringing the total raised to $45.00. If this park keeps handing you birdies, return the favor at the Johnny Roberts Course Fund.
Full Reshuffle, Same Crowns Return
The all-in reshuffle redistributed every tag, and both #1s landed right back where they were. In Pool A, Shane Steinhoff keeps the Chrono Foreman, a brass timepiece fused to a leather-bound ledger that keeps the official standings and will preside over the Last Stand, when every tag position freezes. His 994 came on a 39, against a 44.4 field average. In Pool B, Daniel Harper keeps the Brass Tempest. sighs in digital captivity The format promised impermanence, and the top two ignored it.

Gauge Consensus: Signal Flags at Hole One, Apparently 🚩
That RAH Blue dead heat might be exactly what the Master Regulator wants. Gauge Consensus, Week 8, lands Wednesday, November 4 at Johnny Roberts, and the dial now advances only when several Tinkers' pressure signatures register at once. Jacko Todd and Steinhoff already synced without trying. Meanwhile, the Week 4 counter-rhythmic cylinder is ticking in step with the Regulator, and its final message decodes to the season's final Wednesday. Three weeks left. Track your round on PDGA Live while you're out there.
