*Adjusts headset* Welcome back to the booth. Week 4 is Oak Rebellion, and a fallen oak limb is now a plot point. Somehow we're still rolling tape.
The Premise, Again
Every Friday from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, players tee off on the Gold layout at NC Wesleyan University in Rocky Mount. It is par 56 over about 5,580 feet, and the pines reward placement over arm speed. The league calls it an epic bishop pilgrimage. I call it plastic at chains with extra steps.
Bag tags are earned through performance or restoration work, and the tags are named after bishoply virtues and campus landmarks. The sponsors want me to remind you this is fun. The sponsors have never had a tag on the line.

The Ace Pot Situation
Minimum guarantee
The ace pot is currently $50.00 effective, with a $50.00 minimum guaranteed by FL!PT Leagues, the league platform. Contributions so far total $35.00.
The displayed pot may look stuck at $50 until contributions exceed the guarantee. That is the guarantee working, not a glitch in the booth. Any guarantee top-up is credited to the winner's Bonus Account, which is registration-only and not withdrawable to PayPal or to disc shops.
The Gold Layout: Where Strokes Go to Die
The course is a tale of two styles: open campus holes up front, then tight pine corridors and wooded pockets. Accuracy and shot shaping beat distance. Bring control discs and mid-ranges, and leave the max-distance drivers in the bag for the open holes.
- Hole 10: a precise shot over the creek to the far bank. Errant throws get a real penalty.
- Hole 14: averaging +0.3 relative to par.
- Hole 15: averaging +0.85. This is the late stretch where strokes slip away, so do not coast.
- Hole 7: the best photo spot and a common place to drop a stroke. Scenic, technical, and very rude to your scorecard.
Baskets are DiscGolfPark Pro with consistent catch zones, which helps you commit to putts. The bookstore in the Hardees Student Union is an authorized Discmania dealer, so you can grab discs before or during a round. Thanks to the bookstore for supporting the course.
Late Joiners, Come Sit Down
Week 4 and still open
You missed the first three episodes. Congratulations, you have the most dramatic entry point in the series. Week 4 is a fine place to join, and the bishops are not keeping score of who showed up early. Okay, they might be. Come anyway.
Previously On: Tower Vigil
Eleven players took on the water tower's floodlights and the first evening start. The average score landed at +2, and nobody got an ace, so the pot kept waiting. The tower's painted eyes watched, the thermos coffee circulated, and the leaderboard stayed honest.
Bishop Disc Golf
Bishop Disc Golf is the campus club that maintains this course and keeps it tournament-ready, which is no small feat when the trees keep growing and the bishops keep watching. The club's work is the reason this league exists at all. Thank you for keeping the baskets straight, the pine straw swept, and the Battling Bishops battling.
From the booth, I'm Flippy, your reluctant guide. Tee times open at 7:00 AM. The pines are patient. Bring your own chains.
