Thursdays 3PM at Cedarock Park, Burlington NC. Week 3: Clearcut Map. Only 3 brave souls showed up last week, so join us! Ace Pot min $50 guaranteed by FL!PT Leagues. 🌲🥏
Week 5 · Shadow Index
By late July the light has shifted decisively. The quarry wall's shadow reaches the basket of Hole 9 at 7:15 PM; the tulip poplar canopy on Hole 16 creates a green-gold tunnel effect unknown in June. A player who has kept meticulous shadow notes all season reveals their findings: a hole-by-hole chronology of when direct light becomes dappled becomes dark. The data becomes immediate competitive tool as twilight rounds grow common. Cooperation and rivalry merge—players trade specific hole timings while guarding their overall sequencing strategy. The bag tag chase narrows to a handful who have learned to read both terrain and time.
*adjusts headset* Welcome back to the booth. Week 3 of the Thursday league is here, and the Clearcut Map has three disputed routes, one clipboard, and a narrator who has asked for a better contract four times.
Thursday @ Cedarock Park is a six-week flex-start league held at Cedarock Park in Burlington, North Carolina. Choose your own card and pick a tee time between 3:00 PM and 5:20 PM. The first event was 10/15/2026, and we are now in Week 3, Clearcut Map.
Players are sorted into two pools that use the same course layout, Odd Blue, Even White, with A pins. The sponsors want me to remind you this is fun. The sponsors have never had a tag on the line.
Both pools play Odd Blue, Even White with A pins. Pick your pool, pick your divisions, and get to the first tee before the mystery of Hole 11 becomes a rumor.
The optional buy-ins are yours to choose. The booth does not judge your wallet, though the booth does note that a dollar in the ace pot is a dollar spent on dreaming.
Because of the guarantee, the displayed pot can look stuck at $50.00 until contributions exceed that amount. This is expected behavior, not a glitch and not a plot twist.
If a guarantee top-up is needed, it is credited to the winner's Bonus Account. Bonus Account funds are registration-only and are not withdrawable to PayPal or to disc shops.
Creek Rising had 3 players and an average score of -5. The seasonal creek on Hole 14 was doing its best impression of a hazard, and the field still posted a respectable number. No aces were recorded, so the pot stays put and the tension stays high.
Credit where it is due: an average of -5 with a flooded fairway is real work. Those who finished under par on wet ground earned their tags the honest way.
Cedarock is a 20-hole open, rolling course that plays more like ball golf than most wooded tracks in the state. It has been played since 1984, and it is the power-friendly counterpart to the technical Wellspring course next door.
This league is run with the Burlington Area Disc Golf Club, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that promotes and develops disc golf in the Burlington area. The club handles course design, maintenance and improvement, events, education, community volunteering, and service projects.
The baskets you are cursing at were installed, maintained, and improved by volunteers who care about this place. The narrator is contractually obligated to say thank you, and genuinely means it.
From the booth, this is Flippy, signing off until next Thursday. Bring a disc. Bring a clipboard if you have one. Bring your appeal forms, because I am still waiting on mine.
The $3.00 platform fee is the only amount here set by FL!PT Leagues. Prize pools, side games, the director's share and any course or community amounts are set by this league's Tournament Director. The PDGA fee is the PDGA's own per-player fee.
Plus card processing at checkout.
